Suzanne Brisk (SUNY Upstate’s Pathway to Wellness Coordinator) attends the HIIT (high-intensity interval training) group exercise class I lead at the CAB each week and told me about Walktober!
In your experience, what are some simple ways to add some steps to your daily routine?
I tend to walk or run everywhere!
What kinds of activities do you do (in addition to walking) to stay healthy?
I spin, run, and HIIT.
What are some of the challenges you face when it comes to being healthy?
I have a VERY LARGE sweet tooth!
How do you try to work with or around those barriers?
I set goals for myself and share my goals with others to increase my accountability and support.
What piece of advice do you have for others (any nugget of wisdom that has helped you) that are doing Walktober for the first time?
Include exercise/walking in your routine and do it with others.
